Sometimes we want to return to the past,
To try rebuild friendships meant to last.
Sometimes because of a fight
We sink into darkness, rejecting the light
The light meant to guide;the light meant to right;
We foolishly reject because of the devil of pride.
A moment's conscience, a silver tear,
We hide from it all, the truth we fear
It doen't matter who is right or wrong
Rebuilding broken ties always takes very long
A moments' anger, a silly brawl
Is all it took to destroy it all.
Surely we are meant to be friends forever?
Our times together beautiful as a perfect pearl?
Surely one will forgive the other?
Surely we will again be together?
Alas, we are now history
Too late for an apology
What is done we cannot undo
Our once lukewarm friendship is now through
